Release notes
Newest changes first.
2026-11-05
Saved code design
- Module shapes, finder eyes, and a center logo stay on a saved code. Your QR codes and Track performance show that same look when you come back.
2026-11-05
Redownload a saved code
- On Your QR codes, Download PNG saves the current look of a code you already made. Pro and Business can also download SVG, and can change module shapes, finder eyes, and a center logo on that file.
2026-11-05
QR-Byte site identity
- The browser icon, app name, and page identity are QR-Byte.
2026-11-05
Agent instructions on the page
- On the homepage, Agent instructions fills the sample box with the agent instructions instead of opening the text file.
2026-11-04
Agent section on the homepage
- The homepage shows how an agent generates a QR code, including a sample request and a link that opens a finished sample code.
2026-11-04
Destination-only scan edits
- On a code's scan dashboard, Save updates the destination or content. The QR keeps the colors it was saved with.
2026-11-04
Simpler account menu
- The account menu keeps Codes and Log out. Color swatches and Pro tool shortcuts are no longer listed there.
2026-11-04
Brand kit colors
- On Pro or Business, Settings lets you save brand foreground and background colors as hex or rgba. Those colors appear as shortcuts on the generator, where you can also type hex or rgba directly.
2026-11-04
Shape and design
- On Pro or Business, the generator lets you choose module shapes (square, rounded, or dots) and finder eyes (square, rounded, or circle). The preview and both downloads update while the code stays scannable.
2026-11-04
Logo embedding
- On Pro or Business, the generator and bulk creator can place a PNG or SVG logo in the center of a QR code, with a size cap so the code stays scannable.
2026-11-04
Peak scan times
- A code's dashboard names the weekday and hour when scans peak for the dates you pick, and the busiest day in that range.
2026-11-04
QR codes for AI agents
- An agent can render a QR code without an account by sending the text to POST /api/v1/qr, or by opening the generator with the type and fields in the address.
- Instructions for that task are at /llms.txt, linked from the homepage.
2026-11-04
Location analytics
- On a Business plan, a code's dashboard lists scans by country, region, and city for the dates you pick, and names the busiest place in that range.
2026-11-04
Scan count insights
- A code's dashboard explains the scan count for the dates you pick: how many scans fell in that range, the daily average, how that compares with the all-time total, and whether later days were busier.
2026-11-04
Save every code
- Save works for every generator type. The QR uses a short link, a scan is counted, and the visitor then gets the website, text, email, message, contact, app, event, Wi-Fi, or social profile.
2026-11-04
Save on the generator
- The URL generator shows Save above the download buttons. Saving stores that link on the account and opens scan tracking.
2026-11-04
Save a code
- Save on a code stores a new destination and colors. Track performance opens that code's scan dashboard.
- A dynamic link in the generator has the same Save button, then a link to its scan dashboard.
2026-11-04
Account menu
- Signed-in visitors see their name in the header. Opening it lists Codes and Log out.
2026-11-03
QR code administration
- Signed-in users can open Codes to see every QR code on the account, including the code image, then change a destination, open a code's dashboard, or delete a code.
- A dynamic code created while signed in is saved on that account.
2026-11-02
Signed-in auth pages
- Opening log in or create account while already signed in returns you to the app.
2026-11-02
Google sign-in
- Continue with Google on the login and registration pages uses the Google OAuth credentials configured for the API.
2026-11-01
Accounts
- Log in, create an account, and reset a password on their own pages, linked from the homepage.
- Continue with Google on the login and registration pages. Google uses the account's verified email.
2026-11-01
API access
- A REST API creates, reads, updates, and deletes QR codes, returns scan stats, and renders SVG or PNG images.
- Settings generates and revokes API keys. Requests send the key in X-Api-Key and are limited to 60 per minute.
- The OpenAPI document is at /api/v1/openapi.json, with a readable reference on the API docs page.
2026-11-01
Bulk creation
- Upload a CSV with a type, content, and label for each code, then review per-row errors before generating.
- One style template is applied to the whole batch. The download is a ZIP of PNG or SVG files plus an error report.
2026-11-01
Time analytics
- A code dashboard charts scans by date, hour of day, and day of week.
- The date range uses the viewer's timezone, so a scan just before local midnight stays on that day.
2026-11-01
Location analytics
- Each scan stores an approximate country, region, and city from the scanner IP.
- The code dashboard lists scans by location, with a note that precise coordinates and the IP address are not stored.
2026-11-01
Scan tracking
- Dynamic link codes open /r/{code}, which records the code id, time, and browser, then redirects.
- Each code has a dashboard page with its total scan count.
2026-11-01
Advanced QR types
- App download codes open a smart link that sends iPhones to the App Store and Android phones to Google Play.
- Calendar events use an iCal VEVENT payload.
- Wi-Fi codes use the WIFI: network format, including a hidden-network flag.
- Social profile codes turn a platform and handle into a profile URL.
2026-11-01
QR generator
- Create a QR code for a link, plain text, email, text message, or contact card.
- The preview updates as you type, and you can download it as a PNG or SVG.
